| The Forbidden City |

Ming Emperor Yong Le. For almost 500 years
the palace was the home of 24 Ming and Qing
Dynasty emperors. One of the largest palaces
in the world designed to accommodate up

44 hectares. The venue was chosen for the
founding ceremony of the People's Republic
of China in 1949. In 1999, it went through
a six month renovation and was reopened
